Dr Azmin obtained his undergraduate medical degree (MBChB) from the University of Manchester in 2001. He was awarded the Master of Medicine (MMed) degree upon completion of postgraduate physician training in UKM in 2009. In 2015, he commenced a clinical fellowship in movement disorders at the Royal Melbourne Hospital for a duration of 3 years. This culminated in a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from the University of Melbourne on work relating to functional MRI and pain in Parkinson’s disease. Dr Azmin was previously an Associate Professor at the Department of Medicine, Faculty of Medicine UKM, with clinical duties in neurology and general medicine. He held teaching responsibilities at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including the training of neurology fellows enrolled in the national neurology fellowship programme. Dr Azmin has published a book chapter and numerous articles in peer-reviewed international and local journals, primarily on Parkinson’s disease. He is a member of the Malaysian Society of Neurosciences and the International Movement Disorder Society.
