Prof. Datuk Dr. Ismail Sagap

Prof. Datuk Dr Ismail Sagap is a registered Medical Specialist in General Surgery with a subspecialty qualification in Colorectal Surgery. He holds an MBBCh degree from Ireland, completed his Master of Surgery (MS) at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), and was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS).

Dr Ismail provides clinical consultations and surgical care as a Visiting Consultant Surgeon at KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital and KPJ Bandar Maharani Specialist Hospital. In addition to clinical practice, he actively contributes to academic medical education, surgical training, and clinical research in general and digestive tract surgical care.

General Surgery
• Clinical evaluation and surgical management of abdominal conditions
• Hernia repair procedures (open and laparoscopic techniques)
• Gallbladder disease management
• Surgical management of cutaneous and subcutaneous lesions

Colorectal & Gastrointestinal Surgery
• Diagnostic and therapeutic lower gastrointestinal endoscopy (Colonoscopy and Sigmoidoscopy)
• Evaluation and management of benign and malignant colorectal disorders
• Management of perianal conditions (haemorrhoids, anal fissures, fistula-in-ano, and abscesses)
• Surgical management of inflammatory bowel diseases (Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis)
• Laparoscopic and minimally invasive abdominal surgical procedures
