What is Otoacoustic Emission (OAE)?
The Otoacoustic Emission (OAE) test is used to evaluate the hearing ability in newborns and infants.
The test is painless and will take about 5 - 10 minutes.
The Otoacoustic Emission (OAE) test is recommended for newborns and infants aged 6 months and below.
Why is the Otoacoustic Emission (OAE) Test Needed?
The first 6 months of a baby's life are critical for the growth of his or her hearing and speech skills.
When a baby has a hearing problem, he or she can develop speech and language, cognitive, social, and emotional problems as they grow older.
