An Arteriovenous (AV) Fistula is performed by our experienced vascular surgeon by creating a direct connection between an artery (which carries oxygenated blood away from the heart) and a vein (which carries blood back to the heart).

- Daycare admission (inclusive of 1 meal).
- Surgeon’s professional fees.
- Nursing care & clinical support fees.
Package Exclusions:
- Pre-operative consultations, blood tests, and vascular mapping/assessments.
- Management of complex co-morbidities or uncontrolled medical conditions.
- Surgical transpositions, thrombectomy repairs, fistulaplasty, or emergency interventions.
- Post-operative follow-up consultations and additional medication.
- Any treatment or management required for surgical complications, prolonged hospital stays, or extended investigations.
Terms & Conditions
- This package applies exclusively to self-paying day-case patients.
- Valid for straightforward, elective, and clean creation of AV Fistula with stable patient vital signs.
- Excludes patients with poorly controlled underlying comorbidities.
- Not applicable for Transposition, Repair of Thrombectomy, Fistulaplasty, or emergency cases.
- KPJ Bandar Maharani Specialist Hospital reserves the right to amend or modify the package terms, conditions, and inclusions without prior notice.

How soon can I start using the AV Fistula for my hemodialysis sessions after the surgery?
An AV Fistula generally requires a maturation period of 4 to 8 weeks before it is mature and strong enough for routine needle insertion during hemodialysis. Your vascular surgeon will evaluate the fistula during your post-operative follow-up visits and notify your dialysis centre once it is fully ready for access.
Can I claim this package using my medical insurance or a corporate Guarantee Letter (GL)?
The RM3,800.00 promotional rate is valid exclusively for self-paying (cash/credit card) day-case patients. It cannot be directly billed through insurance Guarantee Letters (GL) or panel corporate accounts. However, an itemised official hospital receipt can be issued upon request if you wish to apply for manual reimbursement independently.
What happens if my condition is complex or requires additional surgical procedure?
This package covers standard, uncomplicated elective AV Fistula creation. If pre-operative mapping or intraoperative findings indicate that you require a vein transposition, thrombectomy, fistulaplasty, or treatment for complex co-morbidities, the package rate will no longer apply, and standard hospital charges will be itemised accordingly.
