Dr Yia @ Yeow Hua Jern is a Consultant Physician and Nephrologist practising at KPJ Bandar Maharani Specialist Hospital. He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the Manipal Academy of Higher Education in 1999. He subsequently earned his Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (MRCP) from the United Kingdom and completed his Fellowship in Nephrology under the Ministry of Health Malaysia.

With over 25 years of clinical experience, Dr Yia’s practice focuses on internal medicine and the management of renal (kidney) conditions. He is registered with the National Specialist Register (NSR) in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology.

Clinical Interests & Services

Dr Yia provides clinical assessment and management for adult medical conditions, with a specific focus on:
• General Internal Medicine: Management of acute and chronic adult illnesses.
• Nephrology: Evaluation and treatment of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) and Acute Kidney Injury (AKI).
• Hypertension & Diabetes: Medical management of systemic conditions affecting renal function.
• Renal Replacement Therapy: Oversight of hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis services.
• Glomerular Diseases: Diagnosis and management of inflammation in the kidney filters.
