Dr. Tan Yiap Loong

Information

Dr. Tan Yiap Loong is a Resident Consultant Obstetrician, Gynaecologist and Uro-Gynaecologist at Kuching Specialist Hospital.

Dr. Tan received his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in 2001. He served as a Registrar in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Sarawak General Hospital from 2002 to 2006. He then furthered his training in the United Kingdom under the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG, UK) Sponsorship Programme, obtaining his MRCOG qualification in 2007. Returning to Malaysia in 2008, he served as a Clinical Specialist in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Sarawak General Hospital.

In 2011, Dr. Tan pursued his subspecialty training in Urogynaecology under the Ministry of Health Malaysia program. As part of his fellowship, he spent a year in the Division of Urogynaecology and Pelvic Floor at the internationally renowned Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Linkou, Taiwan.

In 2014, Dr. Tan joined Kuching Specialist Hospital as a Resident Consultant. He was elevated to Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG) in 2023. An active academic contributor, Dr. Tan has authored over 40 research papers in international SCI journals
