Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nik Amin Sahid Bin Nik Lah is a Consultant General, Breast and Endocrine Surgeon in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, specialising in the assessment and surgical management of breast and endocrine conditions. He obtained his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2009 before completing his Master of Medicine in Surgery at the same university in 2017. He subsequently developed subspecialty expertise in Breast and Endocrine Surgery.

As a Breast Surgeon, Dr. Nik Amin provides specialist assessment and surgical management for breast conditions, including breast lumps, suspicious breast lesions and breast cancer. His clinical and academic work includes breast cancer management and advances in breast surgery, with an emphasis on appropriate investigation, multidisciplinary treatment planning and individualised surgical care.

His expertise also extends to Endocrine Surgery, including surgical conditions affecting the thyroid and related endocrine organs. Patients with thyroid nodules, thyroid tumours or other endocrine conditions requiring surgical assessment may be evaluated and managed according to their diagnosis and individual clinical needs.

Dr. Nik Amin has particular professional involvement in minimally invasive and endoscopic breast surgery. In 2026, he highlighted endoscopic mastectomy as a modern surgical approach for selected breast cancer patients, using specialised instruments and camera-assisted techniques through smaller and less visible incisions.

Dr. Nik Amin is registered with the National Specialist Register of Malaysia under General Surgery – Breast and Endocrine Surgery. He is also actively involved in academic medicine and surgical research with Universiti Malaysia Sabah and provides specialist Breast and Endocrine Surgery services in Kota Kinabalu, including at KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital.
