Dr. Lu Chee Men is a Consultant Physician, Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist at KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, specialising in the diagnosis and management of conditions affecting the digestive system, gastrointestinal tract and liver. His combined training in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology & Hepatology enables him to provide comprehensive care for patients with digestive, liver and complex adult medical conditions.

Dr. Lu obtained his Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Kursk State Medical University in 2009 before attaining Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP), United Kingdom, in 2016. He subsequently pursued advanced training in Gastroenterology & Hepatology and holds the European Specialty Examination in Gastroenterology & Hepatology (ESEGH) together with fellowship training in Gastroenterology & Hepatology in Malaysia.

As a Gastroenterologist, Dr. Lu provides specialist assessment and treatment for patients with gastrointestinal symptoms and digestive disorders. His practice encompasses conditions affecting the oesophagus, stomach, intestines and other parts of the gastrointestinal system, with further investigations or endoscopic assessment considered according to each patient’s symptoms and clinical findings.

His expertise in Hepatology includes the evaluation and management of liver-related conditions. Dr. Lu has been actively involved in public education on chronic hepatitis B, emphasising the importance of screening, regular monitoring and early detection of liver complications. His hepatology practice also supports patients who require specialist evaluation for abnormal liver tests and other chronic liver conditions.

Dr. Lu also has substantial experience in gastrointestinal endoscopy. Prior to joining KPJ Sabah, he was involved with the Gastroenterology Unit at Hospital Queen Elizabeth and participated in specialist endoscopy programmes and professional gastroenterology activities in Sabah.

Dr. Lu is registered with the National Specialist Register of Malaysia in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology & Hepatology and currently practises as a Resident Consultant Gastroenterologist & Hepatologist at KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital in Kota Kinabalu.
