Dr. Lee Yi Mei

Dr. Lee Yi Mei is a General Paediatrician. Dr Lee graduated with MBBS from International Medical University (IMU) in 2006. She has worked in Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun, Hospital Parit Buntar, Hospital Taiping and Hospital Seberang Jaya. She has been serving in Paediatric department since year 2009 where her training in Peadiatric started. Thereafter, she continues her training in Hospital Pulau Pinang, where she went through multidisplinary training as medical officer in Neonatology, General Paediatric, Paediatric cardiology, gastroenterology, respiratory, neurology, nephrology, oncology, child development etc. before she obtained her qualification of MRCPCH in year 2015.

Post-gazettement, she was posted to Hospital Bukit Mertajam (HBM) where she has been Head of Department for Paediatrics since 2016 till now. Her other capacities include infection control facilitator, advisor to the Breastfeeding Society HBM, as well as the COVID Vaccination drive. She also helps setting up Paediatric SARI ward during the COVID pandemic. While there, she has expanded the Paediatric Services, improving its capacity to cater to the needs for the children among the Bukit Mertajam Community. Her special interests include Paediatric Development, Vaccination in Children, and common respiratory problem in children.
