Dr. Fitreena Anis Amran

Dr. Fitreena Anis is our General Surgeon with a special interest in Breast Surgery. Dr. Fitreena graduated with MD from University Putra Malaysia in 2008. She completed her housemanship at Hospital Seberang Jaya, Pulau Pinang and continue as medical officer in surgical department Hospital Seberang Jaya before she decided to join Advanced Medical and Dental Institute, Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2011 as trainee lecturer. She then pursues her post graduate training in general surgery with University Sains Malaysia in 2012. She is trained in vast subspecialty unit when she enrolled in her Master of Medicine (Surgery) which include neurosurgery, vascular surgery, pediatric surgery, cardiothoracic surgery and urology. Upon completion of her post graduate studies in 2016, she did her gazettement in Hospital Seberang Jaya before become permanent General Surgeon and Medical Lecturer in AMDI, USM. She since then serves the community as the general surgeon in AMDI, USM receiving referral from Ministry of Health facilities and Private practice. She also visits Hospital Seberang Jaya and manage Breast Clinic from 2017 until 2019.

Subsequently, she made an auspicious move to do Fellowship in Breast Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery in EWHA Women Medical Centre, Seoul, South Korea. On her returning from her fellowship, she establishes her breast clinic in AMDI, USM, providing oncoplastic surgery for breast cancer patient and involved in breast cancer activities in community, university, and state level. She also performs single method sentinel lymph biopsy for early breast cancer and breast implant post nipple sparing mastectomy. She also well verse in managing advanced breast cancer patient since she holds the position for palliative care coordinator in AMDI, USM from 2017 until 2022.

Despite being well in managing breast cancer, she always keeps abreast and well versed with general surgical cases. She is credential and privileged in performing all basic general surgery cases like laparoscopic appendicectomy, open inguinal hernia etc. She also skilled in performing basic endoscopic procedure like oesophagealduodenoscopy and colonoscopy. She also performs basic arteriovenous fistula creation surgery back in AMDI, USM like brachiocephalic fistula and brachiobasilic fistula.
