Dr. Chong Wei Loong is a Consultant Cardiologist and Interventional Cardiologist at KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of heart and cardiovascular conditions. His clinical practice focuses particularly on coronary artery disease, interventional cardiology and catheter-based assessment and treatment of narrowed or blocked coronary arteries.

Dr. Chong obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from International Medical University (IMU) before attaining Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP), United Kingdom. He further strengthened his cardiology training through the European Exam in Core Cardiology (EECC) and subsequently completed a Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology in Malaysia.

As an Interventional Cardiologist, Dr. Chong provides specialist evaluation and management for patients with coronary artery disease, chest pain and other cardiovascular conditions. His interventional cardiology expertise encompasses coronary angiography and catheter-based coronary procedures, including angioplasty and stenting where clinically appropriate.

His cardiology practice also includes comprehensive cardiovascular assessment for patients with symptoms or risk factors for heart disease. Depending on the patient's condition, evaluation may include electrocardiography (ECG), echocardiography, cardiac stress testing and other cardiac investigations to establish a diagnosis and guide appropriate treatment.

Dr. Chong is also involved in the advancement of interventional cardiology services in Sabah. He was among the Resident Consultant Interventional Cardiologists involved in the introduction of the IVUS–Avvigo+ System at KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital, an advanced intravascular imaging technology used to support greater precision during selected coronary interventions.

Dr. Chong is registered with the National Specialist Register of Malaysia in Internal Medicine and Cardiology and currently practises as a Resident Cardiologist at KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital in Kota Kinabalu. His combination of general cardiology and advanced interventional cardiology training enables him to provide comprehensive care ranging from cardiovascular assessment and medical management to specialised catheter-based heart procedures.
