Dr. Ahmad Zamzuri Remeli is our Consultant Neurosurgeon. Dr. Zamzuri graduated as a Medical Officer from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Kuala Lumpur in 2000. He did his housemanship in Hospital Kuala Lumpur until 2001. After his housemanship, he was transferred to Pahang to serve as Medical Officer in Kuala Lipis and Mentakab Hospital for three years & returned to HKL in 2004. He started to join Neurosurgical department of HKL in 2005.

Dr. Zamzuri entered the Master Training Programme for Neurosurgery in 2007 at Pusat Pengajian Sains Perubatan USM, Kubang Kerian, Kelantan. During his 4 years in the masters training, he was given vast exposure in managing and operating brain and spine cases at the University Hospital, Hospital Sg Buloh, Hospital Sultanah Aminah Johor Bahru & Hospital Kuala Lumpur. After he graduated from the Master programme  in 2012, he was posted to Hospital Kuala Lumpur for his gazettment.

He was later transferred to Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah, Alor Setar as a specialist Neurosurgeon in February 2013 and subsequently appointed as Head of Neurosurgical Unit in June 2015 as well as the Kedah state co-ordinater for neurosurgical services. He has been giving various lectures to the nursing students, participated actively in the post-graduate medical education societies and as a supervisors to the masters trainees in the field of General Surgery, Emergency Physician and Neurosurgical trainees. Dr. Zamzuri has been called to various hospitals all over Kedah and Perlis for inquiry cases and being subpoena to assist court cases.He has published his scientific papers in the Malaysian Journal of Medical Sciences.

Dr. Zamzuri practices all aspects of adult and paediatric Neurosurgery (Neurotrauma, brain & spine tumours, hydrocephalus, degenerative spine diseases, brain abscesses) and has a strong interest in minimally invasive surgery & vascular neurosurgery.
