Datuk Dr. Nerenthran Loganathan is a Consultant Physician, Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, specialising in conditions affecting the digestive system, gastrointestinal tract and liver. He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, before completing postgraduate specialist training in Internal Medicine at Universiti Malaya. He subsequently pursued advanced subspecialty training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology under the Ministry of Health Malaysia, with additional fellowship training at Asan Medical Centre in Seoul, South Korea.

As a Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist, Datuk Dr. Nerenthran provides comprehensive assessment and management for a wide range of digestive and liver conditions. His clinical practice includes gastrointestinal disorders, gastritis, acid reflux, gastrointestinal bleeding, bowel conditions, liver disease and other disorders affecting the digestive system. His Internal Medicine background also supports the management of patients with complex medical conditions alongside gastrointestinal or liver disease.

His gastroenterology practice includes endoscopic assessment and treatment for appropriate gastrointestinal conditions. Endoscopy enables direct examination of the digestive tract and may be used to investigate symptoms, identify abnormalities and perform selected therapeutic procedures. His professional involvement in gastrointestinal endoscopy has also included education and training in areas such as colonic polypectomy.

Datuk Dr. Nerenthran is registered with the National Specialist Register of Malaysia under Internal Medicine – Gastroenterology & Hepatology. He currently practises as a Resident Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist at KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital in Kota Kinabalu, where he has served in Gastroenterology since 2015. His extensive clinical and subspecialty experience supports comprehensive care for patients with digestive, gastrointestinal and liver conditions.
