Datuk Dr. Jayaram N. S. Menon is a highly experienced Consultant Physician, Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist with more than four decades of experience in Internal Medicine and gastrointestinal care. He obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Universiti Malaya in 1981 and subsequently attained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom (MRCP UK) in 1986. His contributions to medicine were further recognised through Fellowships of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and London.

As a specialist in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Datuk Dr. Jayaram provides comprehensive assessment and management for a wide range of gastrointestinal and liver conditions. His clinical interests include upper gastrointestinal bleeding, inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease, therapeutic endoscopy and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). His extensive experience in therapeutic endoscopy and gastrointestinal medicine has contributed significantly to the development of gastroenterology services and specialist training in Malaysia.

Datuk Dr. Jayaram has played an important role in the development of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology services in Sabah. He previously served as Head of the Department of Medicine and Gastroenterology Unit at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kota Kinabalu, from 1990 to 2017, and held national leadership roles in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine under the Ministry of Health Malaysia. He was also instrumental in developing Malaysia's Gastroenterology Fellowship Programme and the Post-Basic Gastrointestinal Endoscopy Nursing Programme. He continues to provide specialist Gastroenterology and Hepatology services, including as a visiting specialist at KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital.
