KPJ Sound of Hope Encourages Early Hearing Care Among Students at SMK Taman Klang Utama

Oct 06, 2026

Klang, 6 October 2026 – KPJ Healthcare Berhad continued its commitment to promoting hearing health awareness among young Malaysians through the KPJ Sound of Hope – Hear Better. Dream Bigger. programme at SMK Taman Klang Utama, Klang, Selangor.

Organised in collaboration with JLG REIT Managers Sdn. Bhd., the school outreach aimed to equip students with essential knowledge on hearing health, encouraging them to recognise early signs of hearing difficulties and adopt healthier listening habits in their daily lives.

Through an engaging hearing health awareness session, students gained valuable insights into the importance of protecting their hearing, particularly in an increasingly digital environment where prolonged headphone use and exposure to loud sounds may affect long-term hearing health.

As part of the programme, 29 students underwent complimentary video otoscopy screenings, providing an opportunity to identify potential ear health concerns and encourage appropriate follow-up care where necessary.

The outreach also featured interactive educational activities and pop quizzes, creating an enjoyable learning experience while reinforcing the importance of preventive hearing care among students.

The initiative forms part of KPJ Sound of Hope's broader commitment to reaching 4,500 students across 15 public secondary schools in five states between September 2026 and April 2027.

Through meaningful partnerships and the dedication of its healthcare professionals, KPJ Healthcare continues to extend its Care for Life commitment beyond hospital walls, empowering students to take charge of their hearing health and build a healthier future.
