JOHOR BAHRU, 20 July - KPJ Healthcare Berhad (“KPJ” or “the Group”), Malaysia’s largest provider of private healthcare services is answering the call to accelerate the rate of vaccination in Johor, as it open its doors to the public at the state’s first Pusat Pemberian Vaksin Mega (PPV Mega) The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey on 19 July. At the PPV Mega Mid Valley Southkey, KPJ’s second Mega PPV that the Group is participating, will see approximately 5,000 vaccinations being administered daily within the next six weeks.
“As part of our continued commitment, we have invested significantly in terms of logistics and manpower to ensure the smooth running of all PPVs. For this particular Mega centre we have seven of our Johor hospitals involved towards making this vaccination initiative a success. Our experience in running the PPV Mega at KL Convec I believe is invaluable, the support and knowledge transfer of best practices within the team is important to avoid any occurrence of unwarranted incidents at the centre,” KPJ President and Managing Director, Ahmad Shahizam Mohd. Shariff.
The seven hospitals involved with the running of PPV Mega Mid Valley Southkey are KPJ Puteri Specialist Hospital, KPJ Johor, KPJ Bandar Dato’ Onn, KPJ Pasir Gudang, KPJ Kluang, KPJ Batu Pahat and KPJ Maharani Specialist Hospitals.
“In addition to the Mega PPV, KPJ in supporting the national COVID-19 recovery efforts is also offering KPJ’s Klinik Waqaf An-Nur (KWAN) mobile clinic to carry out vaccination exercise under the outreach programme for individuals, especially the elderly and the physically disabled in B40 residential areas in Johor,” added Ahmad Shahizam.
A collaboration with Prihatin Johor will see the mobile unit visiting several identified B40 areas in the state starting with PPR Sri Stulang. The mobile clinic currently has the capacity to administer 200 vaccination per day and will progressively increase. The scheduled appointments are coordinated together with the PPR Resident Association and is set via the MySejahtera application. KWAN is KPJ’s Flagship CR initiative to aid the impoverished and underprivileged in urban communities through our chain of charity outpatient clinics and dialysis centres.
To date, KPJ has twenty-five (25) PPVs registered with ProtectHealth Corporation. This includes the Mega PPVs in Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru, as well as one PPV for Industry (PPVIN) which provides vaccinations to industries located in Kuching.
Clocking in at almost 15,000 vaccinations daily makes KPJ the largest private healthcare provider supporting the National Immunisation Programme (NIP).
