Dr. Zuraini received her Bachelor of Medicine, Surgery and Obstetrics (MBBCh BAO) from the Royal College of Surgeons, Ireland and her Master of Anaesthesiology from the National University of Malaysia. In 2014, she completed a Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Anaesthesia and Transplantation in Newcastle, United Kingdom, and the Ministry of Health awarded her a Certificate of Credentialing for procedures in cardiothoracic anaesthesia. 

While working as a gazetted cardiac anaesthetist, she obtained a British Transesophageal Echocardiography accreditation and a Diploma in Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO). She has also authored a book chapter and contributed to cardiac anaesthesia research.
