Dr. Tan graduated from the University of Liverpool, UK and completed his basic surgical training: Mersey Deanery SHO rotation and his specialist registrar trauma and orthopaedic: Mersey Deanery training. Hence, he completed and obtained his Certificates of Completion of Training in the UK.
Dr. Tan obtained his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, UK which he then completed his fellowship in Smith & Nephew Knee Fellowship, Spire Bristol University, focusing on knee arthroplasty and sports medicine. His keen interest in knee and hip surgery has led him to the field of research, which he has published in numerous international medical journals. He is also a co-author of the several book chapters in “Essential Orthopaedics” by Miller et al.. He performs various types of knee replacements, including total and partial (uni-compartmental) knee replacements using patient-specific instrumentation (PSI) and Robotic Assisted Technique which improve overall surgical accuracy.
