The Pre-Term Birth Prevention Centre

The Pre-term Birth Prevention Centre is a specialised clinic where we cater and offer services for women who have a history of previous preterm births or previous second-trimester losses. We also do screening of cervical length for our patients with risk of any preterm birth. Some of the services also include pre-pregnancy counseling and inserting cerclage for patients who are at risk of preterm birth caused by cervical insufficiency. Currently, Malaysia does not have a dedicated clinic or any referral centres to see this group of patients. This centre provides this specialised service for better management and treatment to this specific group of patients suffering silently in the community. Preterm births are a significant cause of neonatal deaths and long-term disabilities. Our centre focuses on preventing these early births and supporting mothers who have experienced the trauma of preterm delivery.
