The Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery (MICS) Training Programme marks an important step in expanding advanced cardiac surgery capability across the KPJ Health System.

Led under the proctorship of Prof. Dr. Shahrul Amry Hashim, Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon and the cardiothoracic team at Damansara Specialist Hospital 2 (DSH2), the programme supports the transfer of expertise to the Johor Specialist Hospital (JSH) team through structured, hands-on exposure in a real clinical setting.

By preparing teams across hospitals in a guided and systematic way, this initiative strengthens readiness for future service expansion and supports the Centre of Excellence development that deliver safe, consistent and high-quality care across the network.
